Breaking the Perfectionism Cycle

If you clicked on the title of this episode, I think it’s safe to assume you’re also a perfectionist. I can probably also assume that you realize it’s holding you back, and that you want to CHANGE that!!
Perfectionism CAN be a good thing when it simply pushes you to do your best, to grow, to learn more, and to take steps toward your goals. But for most of us, it holds us back.
It’s because there’s an underlying fear of failure and/or criticism that we allow to stop us. So we either don’t finish what we start, or we don’t start at all. And if we do finish something, we criticize it and complain about how it sucks, how we could’ve/should’ve done better. And then we don’t put our creations or services out to the world.
I want to challenge you today to let go of some of that fear, that criticism, that negative self-talk. Listen in for why we act the way that we do, and what we can do to positively change this perfectionism cycle.
